WHAT IS NEW YEAR'S EVE ABOUT?
Taking stock of the past year, celebrating our achievements, coming to terms with our failures and preparing for the new year.
Celebration, experiences, tuning in, friends, family, community. In a word: connection.
This concert is meant to prepare for that. There will be reminiscing, anticipation, sentimentality and fun.
We will use and reinterpret familiar melodies. At the same time we will build a bridge between past and present, between different genres and cultures, and between people.
We invite you on a journey through the music of traditional New Year's Eve concerts of the past decades, but with almost nothing out of the ordinary. It's an experiment in which versatile and virtuoso musicians boldly take classic ingredients and reshape them across eras, styles and cultures.
On the journey, we will guide you through well-known masterpieces by the great composers of the past centuries. We will guide you because the signposts will be familiar but the journey itself will be unknown, and because the journey is unique to each of us.
WHY TO CHOOSE THIS?
Because we want experiences, we want new impressions and we want to be impressed. Memories to recall and moments to share with others. Community and connection.
To start the new year with an experience that will take us out of our everyday lives and give us new strength to start afresh. That's what we offer you this evening!
